WALKING IN MY SHOES

Cannot take these sneaker off,
I gotta reach out.
Reach out and walk this way,
This way to my goal.

Sometimes I feel discouraged,
But it's too hard,
Too hard to turn away,
And walk back home.

I cannot take these sneakers,
Even if my feet hurt,
I gotta run this way,
Even if my legs don't work.

I cannot take these sneakers off,
Even if my knees hurt.
I'll have to crawl my way,
My way to my goal,
For it's the only way I have to go.

These sneakers,
They might be torn now.
They might be all worn now,
But that's the way it gets on this road.

This road in life,
You walk by courage.
Even when faith is low
And you feel discouraged.

Sometimes you'll be alone,
But no, don't you worry.
The strongest men walked this road.

So don't take off your sneakers
No, don't give up.
But run now,
Because running is your hope.

A hope of a brighter day,
When your journey is all away,
And You'll be proud to say,
I've made it today,
And now I find rest.
